About Mrs. Hickman

My name is Natalie Hickman and I love being a teacher! I was hired to teach kindergarten at Blair Elementary in Traverse City in 2019. Before that, I taught kindergarten at Wines Elementary in Ann Arbor for seven years! I have a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan.

I was born and raised in Central Lake, Michigan - and attended high school in Elk Rapids. I went to Kalamazoo College for undergrad and have a B.A. in Anthropology and Sociology. I lived in Chicago for a few years before moving to Ann Arbor.

Kindergarten is a very exciting time for children. They are active explorers, learning about school, friendship, and themselves. As they progress through all-day kindergarten they become more independent and can handle more responsibility and choice in their learning. In my classroom, the students and I create a community where everyone feels safe, valued, and deeply engaged in learning. With your help, we will make this an amazing year for your child!
